Rick

thank you for your kind words….Turn 10 is a shrine to sportscar racing…………a visit is to be treasured, maybe one day I’ll do a whole race there rather than a hotel.

Mr and Mrs Salo? That will be one of my lost years where I could not find the funding to visit Sebring, it gets more difficult each year as no one wants to pay for photography these days, I have turned to PR and writing.

Norm was a gentleman in every sense, he was always more worried about whether you were having a good time, whether you had enough to eat or drink, than any concern for his own welfare. He marched to a different drum beat………..

Hopefully I’ll be back………………

You not only have that magnificent talent for photography, but also a pretty fair turn at scrivenry. It has always been a pleasure to chat with you when you visit Turn 10 and I look forward to any time, however brief, to chat.

I can recall like it was yesterday the visit of JJ & Tom to Turn 10, and the wedding. How did you miss the time Mika Salo and “Not Mrs. Salo” dropped by the scaffold?

Last, I’d like to send my heartfelt Thanks for your kind words about Norm Koury. He was my best friend, I loved him like a brother and I miss him every day. He was truly unique, never to be duplicated and in several ways will always be a part of Turn 10.

Cheers,
Rick

You capture the essence of Sebring, better than I have seen anywhere of late. Some of those – like the flight of NINE O NINE – are shared experiences, and never to be forgotten. Sebring is both a place of joy and a place of sadness, racing’s ying and yang. It’s ambiance and traditions will always overwhelm the pretensions of its here now and then gone lease holders. Sorry to have missed you these past few years. We’ll repair that shortcoming sometime in the future.

Tom
