Please forgive my direct approach. Your website came up while I have been researching George E Phillips, the well known photographer and racing driver.
I am a massive Le Mans fan and haven’t missed a race for 20 years. I have also worked on eight Le Mans races as a mechanic for the MG Lola / RML team.
I am a passionate MG fan and have been building historic MGs and MG replicas for over thirty years. I am currently carrying out research on the MG TC in which George Phillips competed at Le Mans in 1949 and 1950.
In fact I am currently starting to build a recreation of the car. I noticed form your article that you are close friends with George’s son Clive. There are a many many questions which I’d like to ask Clive about his father and his adventures with the car. For example, I can only find about 10 black and white photos of the original car online. I don’t even know what colour the car was! I would be extremely grateful if you wouldn’t mind forwarding my details to Clive, with a view to putting us in touch.
I know another replica of this car was built in 2016. I have seen many photographs of that car, but am keen to try and recreate the original car in far closer detail.
