It was through Malcolm that I got started covering the ‘color’ portions of racing at Sebring and Daytona. My first photo used on Sportscarworld was of the 1998 Porsche GT1 that flipped at the inaugural Petit Le Mans in 1998. Looking back, I feel honored to have worked with him and Janos Wimpffen, Brian Mitchell, Gary Horrocks, Lyndon Fox, and to have met so many great photographers and journalists and media people. My time with MC started with Sportscarworld, through Supersportscarworld, then Total Motorsport to the first few years of dailysportscar. It was a magical time for me, and as John has so eloquently expressed in this piece, a time we can all look back upon with great memories!

Brooksie, I met Crackers in Feb 2000 when he was just getting fired up as you mentioned. He wrote up the British GT report for us for the Direct Line online motor magazine (early days of the interweb). I had only been in the UK for 3 months – I was the editor of this grand online publication, and to be brutally honest, I didn’t know a soul in the UK motorsport world. Crackers didn’t waste any time offering his services and I got to know him and his merry band, I won’t mention any names I’m sure you’ll understand…:) He is a great guy and I learned a lot from him very quickly!!
